Here is my other current car, a 1984 Buick Century. I bought it on March 5, 1994 as a replacement for my worn out VW Bug. At the time, I just wanted a good, reliable car to get me through my last year of college.
When I got it, it only had 56,000 miles on it. On Thursday, April 24, 1997, around 5:15pm, it turned . Other than having to have the power steering rack replaced (twice, actually, though the second time it was still under warranty from the first time...) apparently a very common ailment of mid '80's GM cars, and needing a valve job due to a broken early fuel evaporator plate that broke and took out a valve, I haven't had many problems with it at all.
While it's no "hot rod", the engine (3.0 Liter V6) still runs great. I wouldn't mind having more power, though. My original goal was to get through college, and maybe put 100,000 miles on the car, and then get rid of it. But, I have grown very attached to it, and plan on holding on to it for a while.
